Career

Claire Lauria has developed recognised expertise in advising stakeholders in the healthcare and life sciences sector. She assists clients with all legal issues relating to medical devices, medicinal products, cosmetics, food supplements, clinical research, biological samples, health data, and relationships between industry players and healthcare professionals.

Her first role, spanning more than five years within the legal department of a mutual insurance organisation operating in the healthcare and medico‑social sector, gave her a practical understanding of real‑world practices and constraints – an invaluable asset in the pragmatic approach she now brings to her work.

She supports her clients at every stage of their projects: regulatory qualification of products, defining the applicable legal framework for research activities (clinical trials, clinical investigations and other health research involving human participants), assessing legal feasibility, drafting and reviewing contracts (including partnership agreements, consortium agreements, data‑transfer and material‑transfer agreements), and assisting before health authorities or data‑protection authorities. She also advises on e‑health projects, ensuring the regulatory and contractual robustness of their design, and has developed specific expertise in health data warehouses, as well as in accessing and linking data from the French national health data system (SNDS).

Her experience within the Life Sciences department of DELSOL Avocats, where she specialised in the regulation of health products, followed by her time at Life Avocats, where she strengthened her expertise in projects combining health and data, has consolidated a highly sought‑after dual competence. This combined mastery of health‑product regulation and data protection makes her a key interlocutor for innovative stakeholders, particularly at the intersection of health, digital technologies and research.

Claire joined Ydès in February 2026. She advises clients in both French and English, in France and internationally, and is admitted to the Lyon Bar.

She also teaches within the Master’s programme Management des Industries Pharmaceutiques et des Technologies Médicales (Management of Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology Industries) at IAE Lyon, where she delivers a course on personal data protection and health data warehouses. She is a member of the Femmes de Santé collective (Women in Health).
