Valérie is specialized in complex commercial litigation, including international issues. She regularly advises the firm’s clients for all types of commercial disputes (contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, termination of established commercial relations, unfair competition, unfair trading practices, assets and liabilities guarantees etc.) in all activity sectors (industry, aeronautics, medias, new technologies & communication etc.).
Valérie also has an expertise in real estate law, in particular in construction law, real estate, Transactions (CCMI, VEFA, compromises, promises etc.), commercial leases, etc. She has significant expertise in technical litigation, in particular in construction law and product liability cases. She has a well-established experience in expert appraisals having represented many clients over the past 15 years in various activity sectors (construction, consumer, industry). She has also assisted co-owners of buildings operated as tourism residencies against tenants in several class actions.
Valérie has been accredited as a mediator by the CEDR (Center for Effective Dispute Resolution) based in London and she privileges the alternative dispute resolution method to reach a pragmatic solution, less costly and more appropriate. She recommends this method as from the very early stages of pre-litigation in cooperation with the other departments in YDES to resolve conflicts.
Valérie pleads before all judicial courts (civil and criminal) and arbitral tribunals.
Valérie began her career in 2002 with the firm Duclos, Thorne Mollet-Viéville & Associés in Paris, where she practiced in business law, in both legal advice and litigation, for 5 years. Then she was admitted to the Lyon Bar, where she joined the firm DS Avocats in 2007, where she worked in commercial litigation and real estate law. In 2010, Valérie joined the Lyon based law firm Bird & Bird, where she was appointed Counsel in 2014. She joined the firm YDES in April 2016, as partner and head of the business litigation department. She provided her expertise in real estate law.
Valérie has been accredited as a mediator by the CEDR (Center for Effective Dispute Resolution) based in London.
